AS YOUR SCHOOL TRUSTEE, I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY:

• Worked with parents, the city and the TDSB Sustainability Office addressing traffic safety issues around schools

• Obtained funding to repair and expand over-crowded schools: Terry Fox PS, David Lewis PS and playground revitalization at Agincourt Jr. PS

• Expanded French immersion programs and lobbied for equitable access to multilingual education

• Broken down achievement gap by bringing in SHARP mentorship programs to 5 high schools

• Created the annual Eco Fair promoting global citizenship in environmental protection 

• Launched ‘Arts Intersections’ projects engaging parents, students and schools in addressing academic and well-being needs through arts

• Advocated for full-funding of the Covid-19 Pandemic Recovery to make sure we can best address students’ post-pandemic learning and well-being challenges 

• Worked with colleagues to develop the processes to include parents and community members in policy and budget deliberations

• Supported the hiring of independent Integrity Commissioner, the first school board in Ontario in doing so

• Scrutinized, as Vice-chair of the Finance, Budget and Enrollment Committee, to ensure program funding resources are allocated equitably and special needs grants go to schools that need them most

• Chaired the Environmental Sustainability Community Advisory Committee and successfully motioned to declare climate emergency bringing forth a solid plan on greenhouse gas emission reduction, environmental education and community climate action engagements
